Many women forget about maternity pajamas when they are stocking up on maternity wear. I for one stole my husband’s oversized tee shirt and wore that for about 7 months straight. It was big and bulky, and unflattering. When I became pregnant for a second time, I vowed to make things different. I was able to get several pajama pieces that worked well even after the baby was born.

Try to choose a material that will wear well, and withstand continual washings. Many pajama fabrics actually get softer overtime, which is very nice. Function should also be considered. Pregnancy pajamas should fit well and give you room to grow. A drawstring waistband will allow you to wear your pajamas long after the baby has arrived. Loose fitting pajama tops will come in handy when you start nursing as well.
