Maternity Bras – Be Prepared To Be Amazed!

The first time I went to shop for maternity bras, about 5 years ago, I was disappointed to find the limited assortment of choices. It was bad enough, I was swelling in areas that I didn’t think were possible, but I didn’t want to wear unflattering undergarments as well. When it came time for my second child, I started looking online for maternity and nursing bras. I was amazed at what I found.

A functional maternity bra is top priority for any mom-to-be. You want something that is easy to put on and take off, and allows you access when your little one needs it. You should be able to gain access with one hand, so that you can hold your baby with the other. Comfort should also be a concern when choosing a maternity bra. Look for materials such as micro fiber which allow you to breathe and move in comfort. This is especially important once you start nursing.

Once you find out that you are pregnant, you need to understand that your body will begin to change almost immediately. Your maternity and nursings bras should compensate for such changes and give you all the support you need. The wrong bra can lead to backaches and make your clothes fit incorrectly. When choosing a nursing bra, you will want to measure just as you would with any other bra. The maternity or nursing bra should sit flat on your breast bone and provide full breast coverage. You may find that as your pregnancy progresses, so will your maternity bra size. This is normal and to be expected.

Lastly, don’t be fooled into thinking that maternity or nursing bras have to be unflattering. There are many styles and colors to choose from, and they are every bit as sexy as the bras you wore before you were pregnant.
